Big news for central employees, DA hiked by 11%

In today’s world, the ever-rising inflation rate is having the greatest impact on the general public. Millions of government employees in Uttarakhand were also facing this serious problem. The ever-rising prices of daily commodities made it difficult for them to support their families. Managing household expenses and children’s education on their government salaries became a major challenge. Middle-class government employees, in particular, found it even more difficult to bear the brunt of inflation, as their incomes were limited but their needs remained the same.

In light of these difficulties, employee unions continuously demanded an increase in dearness allowance. Numerous protests and demonstrations were held, but the problem remained unresolved. In such a situation, the state government, recognizing the employees’ difficulties, decided to take a significant decision. This decision was a positive step not only towards improving their financial situation but also towards boosting their morale.

Chief Minister Dhami’s Historic Decision

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, taking seriously the financial difficulties of the state’s government employees, has approved an increase in dearness allowance. This decision is not only a relief for employees but also a fitting recognition of their dedicated service and hard work. The state government has sent a clear message that it is fully committed to the welfare of its employees. It has demonstrated that it is always ready to take necessary steps to address their problems.

This decision also demonstrates that the government considers its employees not just as working machines but as an important part of its family. When the government considers the well-being of its employees, the quality of work improves. This decision demonstrates that the state government understands the needs of employees and prioritizes their welfare.

Allowance Revisions for Different Pay Scales

The state government has decided to increase dearness allowance at different rates for employees in different pay scales. Employees of public institutions and undertakings falling under the Fifth Central Pay Scale previously received 455 percent dearness allowance, which has now been increased to 466 percent. Similarly, for employees in the Sixth Central Pay Scale, this rate has been increased from 246 percent to 252 percent. This increase, amounting to a total of 11 percent, became effective January 1, 2025.

This arrangement has been made because employees in different pay scales have different financial needs. Employees with lower salaries are more vulnerable to inflation, so the allowance rate for them has been kept higher. The government has ensured that employees at every level receive appropriate relief according to their needs. This is a scientific and equitable approach that will benefit all employees.
